O’s Notes: Tenor saxophonist Grant Stewart forms a trio with bassist Paul Sikivie and Phil Stewart on drums a combination pioneered by Sonny Rollins that lends to a sound that is open, almost empty. But there are strong solos from all three musicians from the opener ”Thinking of You”. Phil Stewart provides strong drum solos on “After You’ve Gone” and “Un Poco Loco” to compliment Grant’s gentle warm sax and Sikivie’s bass melodies on “Just As Though You Were Here”.“Roll On“is a solid bebop encounter.
