O’s Notes: Alex Pangman is a singer with a passion for the music of the 1930s. 33 is a collection of tunes from 1933 recorded when she was 33 years old! Most of the songs come from Bing Crosby’s catalog along with “As Lovely Lovers Do”, the lone Pangman original. Pangman’s band the Alleycats do a fine job recreating the magic as well especially Ross Wooldbridge (cl, ts) on “Shine”. If you are ready to take a step back in time, this is a ticket to swing.
