O’s Notes: 4+Four is the combination of the Turtle Island String Quartet (TISQ) and the Ying Quartet. The lead band, TISQ has made their mark combining various forms of music with classics while YQ is renowned for their work with classical music. Together they blend elements of classical music, primarily Haydn and Mozart, with more contemporary music, namely jazz. The classical roots remain but with more improvisation and accessibility for today’s audiences.
