O’s Notes: Dave Frishberg is a pianist, composer and lyricist with many accomplishments and great tunes, yet he’s flown under the radar for most jazz fans. Most of Dave’s work is appreciated with vocals but pianist Randy Porter pays homage with an all-instrumental tribute. Porter Plays Frishberg: Unsung is a piano-centric recording that swings like crazy. “I Want To Be A Sideman”, ”Little Did I Dream”, “Peel Me A Grape” and “Snowbound” are some of the best.
