O’s Notes: Diego Figueiredo is one of the finest contemporary jazz guitarists emanating from Brazil. Eduardo Machado (b), Marcilio Garcetti (perc) and a unified string quintet usher Figueiredo on Follow The Signs. It is warm Brazilian samba with soothing strings adding to the ambience on Diego’s original music. The warmth is pervasive across all tracks notably on “Sobre As Aguas” and “Delicate Samba”. We also enjoyed “Jobim Forever”, “Samba In New Orleans”, “Imagination”, and their cover of “Misty”.
