O’s Notes: Pianist Mike Longo has made a habit of performing live at the Baha’i Center in New York. This recording is a celebration of Dizzy Gillespie and Miles Davis. In the true spirit of bebop, this is an unrehearsed set with the musicians knowing only the names of the tunes minutes before the show started! Bassist Paul West and drummer Ray Mosca are up to the challenge keeping things tight as well as contributing rich improvisation. Greats songs and good interpretation equal a fine performance.
