O’s Notes: The Last Taxi is a quartet featuring bassist Chris Rathburn, Richard Poole on drums & vibes, Todd Brunel on bass clarinet and pianist Patrick Battstone. A Conversation is a rather abstract outing as suggested by the album artwork. It is not ‘too far gone’ into free jazz space but the discussion pushes the envelope on more than one occasion. All of the music is original and intriguing, kind of spacey ready for an accompanying movie. Let’s find a script.
