O’s Notes: They open with the calypso beats of the title track. There are hints of Latin beats throughout as pianist Ryndak is an avid student of Jobim. He has learned well as these ten originals have that happy, relaxed bossa nova character. Each track stands on it’s own. The jazz waltz of “Just Live” and radio friendly “Jadey” add variety to the set. Sasha Brusin adds a fleeting guitar solo on “Larimar”; John Falstrom takes his turn with a cool bass solo on “Blues For Emily” as Rob shares the stage with his band. This is a Reason To Smile!
