O’s Notes: Guitarist Sean Harkness provides support for vocalist Karen Oberlin in a set of thirteen jazzy covers of classic tunes. The duo is vibrant and entertaining owed to each musician’s command of his or her instrument. Karen scats and sings with a heartfelt dynamic delivery that is up front and personal. Sean strums, picks and slaps his guitar providing melodies, rhythm and percussion as appropriate. Together they make A Wish an intimate encounter that is well packaged and uncluttered. Highlights are many including “More Than You Know”, “My Valentine” and “No One Knows”.
