O’s Notes: Telarc put together a collection of eight tracks from the five albums Tyner recorded between 1999 and 2004. There is an abundance of rich Afro-Latin rhythms on this collection as expected from the title. Gary Bartz’s sax on “If I Should Love You” really mesmerizes us. Bobby Hutcherson (vibes), Dave Valentin (flute), Christian McBride (b) and Lewis Nash (d) all perform flawlessly with the swinging piano of Tyner. “Blue Bossa”, “Summertime” and “Afro Blue” were standouts.
