12th Street Records, 2007, CD
Instrument: Male Vocals
Jazz Ruler Type: Ballads, Blues
O’s Notes: We enjoy listening to Andy’s rich baritone voice (and piano accompaniment as well). This live session was recorded at New York’s Birdland back in 1997. Peter Washington plays bass with Kenny Washington on drums except tracks 4 and 8 where Vito Lesczak steps in. The selections are well suited to Andy and he puts 200% emotion into each one to deliver a satisfying performance. Among the best songs are “If I Should Lose You”, “On Second Thought” and “Ain’t Necessarily So”.
