O’s Notes: Amidst the recent flurry of new releases featuring tango, we find the master Pablo Ziegler (p) who cut his teeth played alongside of the tango pioneer Astor Piazzolla. In Pablo’s latest encounter we find him in Amsterdam collaborating with The Metropole Orkest. The large ensemble is at home in this genre already having accompanied many jazz greats. The sound is large and powerful, especially on the bottom. The result is yet another dimension of contemporary tango rich with emotion and today’s moods.
