O’s Notes: This is a collection of modern jazz presented by Noah Preminger and his quartet. Frank Kimbrough (p), John Hebert (b) and Matt Wilson (d) back up the saxophonist on a set of nine selections. Noah shines on warm ballads like “Until The Real Thing Comes Along” and “Where or When”, two of four covers. This is in contrast with the free bop of “Toy Dance” and “Quickening”. We preferred the slower pace.
