O’s Notes: Baritone Saxophonist Gary Smulyan Is back with a taste of Italian songs. The melodies extract passion in both instrumental and vocal formats. Gary invites Dominic Chianese to sing several selections. Donminic’s tenor marries well with Gary’s baritone and support from the band is very good with drummer Matt Wilson and bassist Martin Wind leading the way. We mostly enjoyed the vocal tracks, packed with emotion and taking us back to the late 19th century.
