O’s Notes: Jazz vocalist Anne Walsh has rich vocal tones that flow gracefully over the music of the band, a large ensemble featuring her husband, pianist and arranger Tom Zink. They are a powerful combination. “Amazon” is true to it’s title with soft bossa nova beats contrasting with the funky swagger of “Batuque” (The Beat). We also enjoyed Anne’s take on the classics “I Say A Little Prayer” and “Nature Boy”. Walsh presents a wide variety of contemporary ballads and does them all in high style on Brand New, a disc that will please wide audiences.
