O’s Notes: Mike, playing mandolin and/or guitar pairs up with eight of today’s best choro musicians. Choro is a spirited contemporary Brazilian music and these musicians are easily up to the task whether sprinting along as on “El Diablo Suelto” with Jackie Rago (cuatro) or approximating the seduction of a tango on “Luis Americano Na P. R. E. 3” with Andy Narell (p). Listening to these 17 tracks we heard an abundance of talent!
