O’s Notes: Ellen has a beautiful voice and shares it with us over a dozen songs, mostly new collaborations. She opens with “Blue” highlighted with flute accents from Pedro Eustache. “Life Is What You Make It” is a trio with Tuck & Patti where Ellen and Patti playfully trade scats and lyrics. We also liked “Never Let Me Go” and “Love Dance”. Dori Cayman (vocals, g), Abraham Laboriel Jr. (d), Abraham Laboriel Sr. (b), Alex Acuña (perc, d), Frank Martin (p) and Ray Fuller (g) are among the many talented musicians who help make this one shine.
