O’s Notes: This is a collection of eleven relaxing jazz ballads highlighting the piano. All of the selections were previously released on Telarc by different artists. The theme of solitude and tranquility makes this a perfect CD for meditation, or the backdrop for a classic event. Three of the songs are solo piano by Dave Brubeck and McCoy Tyner with the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra employed behind Michel Camilo on “Prelude No. 2”. Other highlights are George Shearing playing “It’s Only A Paper Moon”, “Captain Hook” by Benny Green and “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” by Cyrus Chestnut.
