O’s Notes: Lynne leads a quartet with Omer Avital (b), Anthony Pinciotti (d) and Bill McHenry (sax). They play a program of mostly originals with a few well places covers like “Sister Moon”, a warm ballad. McHenry shines on “For Peace”, another of several strong ballads contrasting with “Elements” and “Here and Now” both upbeat burners. Avital adds spark walking his bass in a spirited exchange with Arriale on “Convergence”. We also enjoyed the Latin vibe of “Dance of the Rain” leading to a strong balanced session that allowed each of the musicians to excel.
