O’s Notes: While touring with a sax quartet in 2012, Liebman suggested Blais assemble a quartet and head to the studio. Sam invited drummer Martin Auguste and bassist Morgan Moore to join them and round out the quartet. All four musicians rise to the occasion to make a memorable recording. Low expectations and chance led to a really good session. We liked the cool bounce of the title track and the ultra mellow tones of “A Taste of Honey” two selections of eight on Cycling that typify a fine outing.
