O’s Notes: Felipe Salles wrote, arranged and produced all of the music for Departure. He also plays all of the reeds enlisting support from guest artist Randy Brecker on trumpet. There are nine vibrant selections that sustain a cool groove that makes this a disc that you can listen to repeatedly with joy. Highlights are “Bela’s Reflections”, “B’s Blues” and “Maracatu D’Orleans”.
