O’s Notes: This twosome features two consummate jazz professionals, bassist Ron Carter and Houston Person on tenor sax. While it’s an unusual pairing, this is the third album from this team. They capture all of the warm nuances and elemental expressions from their instruments. Both have evolved over the last few decades together and apart but there’s no mistaking the warm intuitive dialog here. They trade leads, play in unison and complementary on eight cool collaborations. Our favorites: “Mr. Bow Tie” and “Mack The Knife”.
