O’s Notes: Zansa is a festive band playing traditional West African music. The beats are syncopated and laced with guitar and percussion. Matt Williams (violin, g, vocals), Ryan Reardon (b, vocals, g, keyboard) and Adama Dembele (lead vocals, perc) are the core of the band. They keep the music flowing and upbeat. Lyrics are mostly West African but the rhythms are universal, friendly and fun. Our favorites are “Thirst”, “Djansa” and “Walk Away”.
