O’s Notes: Eric’s depth defies his youthful appearance with consistent top-notch performances. This is his usual connection of standards, originals and ballads and this is a good thing! Alexander makes the old sound new and creates a program that flows for easy listening start to finish. Highlights are “Footsteps”; the light bossa nova beats of “Don’t Misunderstand” and “Remix Blues”, a burner. Hats off to producer Don Sickler and the masterful engineer Rudy Van Gelder for making it swing.
