O’s Notes: This is a roots based recording dedicated to the late Abbey Lincoln. Abbey was a great jazz singer, poet, actress and musician. Christine Correa does a fine job recreating some of Abbey’s best selections with rich emotion packed vocals. Ran supports her with dynamic piano renderings in all of the right places. It is a worthy tribute that will delight Lincoln fans while demonstrating the versatility of Blake and Correa in their renditions.
