O’s Notes: Duality is a collection of eleven duets pairing saxophonist/clarinetist Dan Block with Ted Rosenthall (p), Lee Hudson (b), Paul Meyers (g), Catherine Russell (vocals), Matt Munisteri (steel guitar), Scott Robinson (sax, cl), Rosanno Sportiello (p), Mark Sherman (vibes), Saul Rubin (g) and Tim Horner (d). A couple of the selections are performed in the trio format but all are exceptionally clean, crisp and loaded with bounce. Among the best are “The Jazz Samba”, “Chorino For Dennis” and “I’ll Build A Stairway To Paradise”.
