O’s Notes: Dick Lupino plays bass and sings on a program of 14 standards arranged for a large ensemble. A solid rhythm section anchors the band with Mike Renzi (p) and Vinny Pagano (d) with a strong brass compliment. Dick shows a soft romantic side on “I Wish I’d Met You” and “One in a Million You”. He swings with the music on “Moondance” and the two medleys. Our favorites are “Beyond the Sea” and “The best Is Yet To Come”. Lupino shines on both jazz and pop numbers regardless of the tempo.
