O’s Notes: Antonia Bennett is the featured vocalist on Embrace Me, a collection of ten classic ballads. She is backed up by the Jon Davis Trio with Rafael Barata (d), musical director Paul Nowinski (b) and Davis on piano. The arrangements are unique and shaped to highlight Bennett’s gentle, slightly nasal tones. She softens each of the songs and makes them even more approachable while pausing from time to time to allow the band, especially Davis to shine! Among the best are “Teach Me Tonight”, “The Man I Love” and “Embraceable You”.
