O’s Notes: Chilean vocal star Claudia Acuña returns to the studio to produce ten new reflective selections. Most are sung in Spanish but they are so melodic, they are easy to appreciate. She also includes two originals that we enjoyed notably “That’s What They Say”, a collaboration with pianist Jason Lindner. Her band also includes bassist Omar Avital, Juancho Herrera (g) and Clarence Penn (d). Guest artist Branford Marsalis (sax) makes an appearance on “Cuando Vuelva A Tu Lado”, a warm ballad. We also enjoyed “Vuela Al Sur” one of several very expressive selections on this CD. This time Claudia makes it personal!
