O’s Notes: Enclave is a musical exercise combining Latin rhythms with bop, fusion and free jazz. The band includes Fernando Huergo (b) and Steve Langone (d) while Rebecca plays piano and Hilary plays sax. The experiment has a high yield producing songs with vamp beats like “Dragon Slayer”. Their arrangement of “You’d Be So Nice To Come Home To” transforms the tune into an instrumental calypso swinger. “Once Eleven” finds Hilary soloing free style over cool beats contrasting with the blue ballad, “Dark Nebula”. Overall we found this to be an intriguing session.
