O’s Notes: Saxophonist Benny Reid is a fresh voice on the smooth jazz circuit playing a soft jazz-fusion. He wrote all of the tunes except the cover of “Always and Forever”. Reid performs soothing mid tempo ballads like “Sleeping Beauty”, the entrancing “Facing The Edge” and the racy cool fusion of “New Days” featuring guitarist Richard Padrón. We also enjoyed the upbeat “Firelight”. But the best tunes are the soft ballads like “The Most Beautiful Girl I Ever Knew”… The album is dedicated to Alina, a gift.
