O’s Notes: Randy Thompson is a well-known TV actor, stand-up comic and writer of music for television shows and movies. This is his debut as a leading musician. His music has a unique contemporary style combining European rhythms with hints of Mid-East/India. This collection has many vocals and includes guest singer Lynn Rose. There is also strong supporting music including the use of atypical, instruments. In addition to Thompson’s work on flute, sax, vocals, mandolin and guitar, we also liked the contributions from Matt Finders (tb), Greg Fried (violin) and James Eblen (percussion). Our favorite track is “Barcelona”. Euphony has a different vibe that will excite selected audiences.
