O’s Notes: Carol sings sixteen popular ballads, mostly love songs that have been a part of her repertoire for years. She is a confident and poised singer who tells a story with each song. David Finck is the arranger, producer and bassist who anchors the project. He keeps the band swinging on tunes like “The Way You Look Tonight”. “Vivo Sonhando” is one of several Brazilian tunes that are as soothing as any bossa nova sung in Rio. She adds a little humor with “O Pato” quacking like a funky duck along the way! Brazilians Helio Alves (p), Mauri Refosco (perc) and Adriano Santos (d) give these songs the native touch. All of the musicians selected for this project do a fine job supporting Carol and the mood of each tune making this delightful entertainment.
