O’s Notes: French drummer Raphael Pannier makes his debut with Faune featuring musical director Miguel Zenon (sax), Aaron Goldberg (p) and François Moutin (b). Guest Giorgi Miladze (p) plays on three selections as well. The combined French, American and Latin cultures come through the music in a very engaging set with Pannier composing 7 of the 12 selections. This is a strong start that has us already anticipating Act II.
