O’s Notes: The playful Brazilian beats are infused throughout this modern fusion set. The quartet is Jan zum Vohrde (fl), Fernando de Marco (b), Afonso Correa (d) and Clausen (p). C¾cilie Norby adds a few refreshing vocals. The music is a combination of Clausen’s originals and rearranged classics like “Desafinado”. We liked the syncopated fusion feel of “Cafe Noir” followed by the tranquility of “Moon Flight”.
