O’s Notes: Composer, producer and keyboard wizard Jonathan Fritzen released Fritzenized, his fifth smooth jazz release as a leader. Paul Taylor (sax), Alex Al (b), Gerald Albright (sax) and Nils Landgren (tb) are among the contemporary jazz heavyweights he invited for the session. By the time he gets to “Celebration” with Albright and Al and “Guacamole” with Landgren, things are heated up and the groove is flowing. Jonathan uses an abundance of synths for many tracks but sounds best when he incorporates more natural instrumentation.
