O’s Notes: Dave sparks up a blend of Neobop/fusion that is fresh and invigorating. They start with the title track, dedicated to the late Michael Brecker and featuring strong work from LeFebvre and guitarist Jean Michel Hure. Dan Feiszli (b) and Curt Moore (d) anchor the funky beat on “Hybrid”. Those two tracks justify the purchase of this CD alone but there are more satisfying tunes in this set of eight originals. Keep an eye out for LeFebvre, pronounced “Le Fay”.
