O’s Notes: Malkiel was born in Russia and music became a large part of her life including jazz (taboo in Russia at the time). She persisted in her passion after raising a family and we are glad she did! Anya has a warm deep vocal tone supported by a fine band featuring Christian Tamburr on vibes. They play ten freshly arranged standards that have inviting characteristics. The sound is earthy, rich and From The Heart.
