O’s Notes: This new trio packs a solid punch. The musicians are Dennis Chambers (d), Biréli Lagrne (g) and Dominique Di Piazza (b) with special guest John McLaughlin. Each of these guys can play and together they are a dream. The songs range from upbeat funky syncopation like “Marie Tcha Tcha” and “D.B.D.” to more mellow tunes like “The Eyes of Jesus Christ”. This is undoubtedly one of the best fusion albums of the year.
