O’s Notes: Drummer Billy Martin assembles a brassy band with musicians with Marcus Rojas (tuba), Curtis Fowlkes (tb) and Stephen Bernstein (t). Guest vocalist Shelley Hirsch sings on the racy blues based “99%”. It fits right in with the blues fusion program of Heels Over Head. Most of the material is original New Orleans style jazz written by band members. It has the Bourbon Street flavor that will win over fans of that genre and attract new listeners as well!
