O’s Notes: Fusion guitarist and Berklee assistant professor John Stein lights up another fine recording with Hi-Fly, an even mix of fresh covers and originals. Jake Sherman (p, B3), John Lockwood (b) and Ze Eduardo Nazario (d) round out the quartet. Sherman is a student at Berklee and one to watch in the future! The title track and “Lazy Afternoon” are among the best of the retakes with “Skippin'” and “Plum Stone” being the best of the newbies.
