O’s Notes: Rosen has a soft but powerful soprano and a peace with life that she shares with us over ten classic ballads. She opens with “Over the Rainbow” soaring through the skies with the lyrics. Though these are songs we’ve heard many times Hill personalizes them by placing emphasis and emotion on specific notes. Prime examples are on “If You Believe” and “Someone to Watch Over Me/Can’t Help Lovin’ Dat Man” with a complimentary solo from Jason Jackson (tb). Rosen gives us a spiritual moment with “Heaven” and closes underscoring her inspirational messages with “Impossible Dream”.
