O’s Notes: Richard plays accordion and leads the band through ten selections. They open with a “Milonga Is Coming”, a rich ballad blending the tones of the accordion with vibes courtesy of one of the best in the business: Gary Burton. They pick up the pace with “Truinfal”, a bouncy vamp held together by bassist George Mraz. Clarence Penn keeps time on drums rounding out the quartet. They continue to vary the tempo throughout the set with tangos and ballads keeping the listener engaged and entertained. The vibes soften the sometimes sharp edges making this a very pleasant experience.
