O’s Notes: UNC-G’s Jazz Ensemble is not your ordinary college jazz band. It was formed in 1967 as a part of the Miles Davis Jazz Studies program and evolved over time to be among the beat college jazz programs. Director Chad Eby is especially proud of the 2007-8 band that recorded this session including such gems as “Tell Me A Bedtime Story” and “Sioux City”. These are two of thirteen swingers including several originals written by students.
