O’s Notes: Guitarist Willers teams up with Yves Robert (tb), Horst Nonnemacher (b) and special guest Paul Bley (p) for In The North. This CD is a dedication to the legendary free spirited musician, Jimmy Giuffre. Jimmy was a bit eclectic in his style and these compositions also speak of free jazz. Willers and his drummerless quartet maintain a clear soundstage allowing full embellishment of themes. This creates a rather enticing sense of adventure.
