O’s Notes: Sir. Charles is a singer who celebrates the music! He surrounds himself with first call musicians including Alan Broadbent (p), Pete Christlieb (sax), Joe La Barbara (d) and producer Jim DeJulio (b). The program is a dozen standards and originals. All of them are upbeat like “This Song Is You”, and “Four”. But Griggs is best scatting on “a Night On Tunisia” and his own “In to Jazz”, the title track.
