O’s Notes: Linda (p) leads a quartet with bassist Harvie S, Allison Miller (d) and either Stan Chovnick (ss) or Todd Herbert (ts). She wrote most of the music and plays piano on all tracks. There is a strong backbone established by Harvie and Allison that allows Presgrave and the sax soloists to dance freely and remain intact. Linda and her husband Stan moved to New York from St. Louis in 1998 and have risen to the top of the jazz scene. This collection is truly fresh and inspirational as the title suggests. Highlights are “Bird of Céret”, the swinging “Struttin in Manhattan”, “You Know Who” and “Insomnia” in a strong set.
