O’s Notes: Japanese guitarist Shingo Yuji performs with bassist Dave Robaire and drummer Dan Schnelle. Walter Smith III adds sax on the first two tracks. The music is slow burning fusion based on Yuji’s many experiences and influences that span across Japanese and American culture as well as jazz and pop songbooks. We enjoyed “The Dry Cleaner From Des Moines” and “Shadows On The Sun”, one of the five original selections. While this is a studio recording, there are no overdubs, a testament to Shingo’s prowess on guitar!
