O’s Notes: Lisa follows up her strong debut with I’m Old Fashioned, appropriately titled collection of classics straight-ahead ballads. Casalino collaborates with producer, guitarist Nate Najar for six original selections. Her vocal signature is unique; slightly nasal, youthful and tonally accurate. Kenny Drew, Jr. Tickles the ivory especially on the swinging “Charade”. Bassist John Lamb makes a strong statement in his duet with Lisa on “Honeysuckle Rose”. Other highlights are “Optimistic”, “Call Waiting” and the sweet vocal harmonies on “Is That On The Menu?” featuring The Casalino Sisters and Jeff Rupert (tenor sax).
