O’s Notes: Jacob is a drummer and he shows us what he’s got right out of the gate on “Dancing Foo/Squatty Roo”, a swinging tune that is energizing. He is joined by a solid cast including Tadataka Unno (p), Hassan JJ Shakur (b) and Trio De Sum. They strike a little bossa nova on “Brigas Nunca Mais” followed by “For All We Know” featuring vocalist Frank Senior. We also liked “The Lady Of My Life/My Baby” and “It Might As Well Be Spring”. There is no doubt about the title or the drummer: It’s About Time is a winner all the way through!
